Greece Holidays

"Greece is a fantastic choice for a beach holiday offering hot summers, beautiful beaches and a real sense of history, tradition and culture"

Greece has much to offer for a fab beach holiday including amazing beaches (of course!), friendly people, a wonderful Mediterranean climate, delicious food and breathtaking sights. As well as it's own sense of history and traditions Greece also has it's own alphabet!

Out of the beaches some of them stand out amongst the rest for their lovely golden sand and clear waters. Almyros Beach in Crete is gorgeous with a long sandy protected bay and shallow waters making it perfect for children.

Paradise Beach in Kos situated on the South coast is also recommended for it's beauty, fine golden sand and good water sports. Agathi Rhodea in Kefalonia is a busy but secluded beach and is a popular stop off for many of the island boat trips. Nearby there is also a unique red sandy beach.

As well as lazing about enjoying sunny days on the beach there are also some great excursions to experience for those who like getting out and about and experiencing the culture that Greece has to offer. The Sea Plane excursion in Corfu is one you will not forget! It departs from Gouvia Marina and offers a breathtaking birds eye view of the island.

A day trip to Spinalonga is also recommended. This is a lovely small island full of history. An experienced tour guide will explain the origins and places of interest there.

For the lively, the many water parks around the island offer some great fun in the sun with an array of watersides and entertainment.

For nighttime entertainment the Old Town Theatre in Rhodes Town offers a night out with a difference including authentic Greek dance and music.

If you are going to Greece for the nightlife, you will find that it varies greatly depending on the resort you choose. Some of the resorts are very lively with pubs and clubs open until the early hours including Faliraki and Malia in Crete. Other resorts are more laid back and offer traditional Greek nights such as a long meal followed by a stroll by the beach and a few drinks in a local bar. It really depends on the type of holiday you are looking for.

From our research Olympic Holidays and Cosmos are recommended for holidays to Greece.

Thomson Holidays are recommended for luxury holidays to Greece.
