Majorca, one of the Balearic Islands has much to offer all types of travellers from families and couples to groups of young adults. This is because this beautiful island is so diverse and the choice of resorts range from lively party resorts like Magaluf and Palma Nova to relaxed and laid back resorts such as Cala Bona and Puerto Pollensa. The beaches throughout Majorca are golden and the water very warm and clear during the summer months. April to October tends to be the best time of year to visit for the sunshine.

If you are looking for more from your holiday than a sun tan and you like to get out and about there are some fabulous excursions. Some of the best include the Pirates Adventure which is full of gymnasts, acrobats and dance routines and was voted the best experience of 2006! This night out also includes a Buccaneer's feast and drinks.

The Western waterpark is also recommended for a great family day out. This is a themed waterpark with slides, pool and shows you can visit throughout the day.

But our favourite excursion is the Hidden Treasures which allows you to see the real Majorca, hidden in the Tramuntana Mountains. You will see breathtaking scenery and mountain ranges and get to travel through lovely lemon groves on a wooden train and sail around the port of Soller.

Recommended	1. Sunshine.co.uk Majorca is one of Sunshine's most popular locations and they have some amazing prices from just £83.79 at the time of our research! They offer flights from most regional airports and use budget airlines such as easyjet and thomsonfly to keep their prices low. Sunshine have a huge choice of hotels and apartments in Majorca. The 3 Star Gil Hotel in Palma Nova is a popular choice as it's in an excellent location and offers great value for money. Just 500 meters from the beach, and close to the shops, bars and clubs, everything you want will be close by. The hotel facilities include internet access, bar, pool and sun loungers. Or why not try the 3 Star Sol Alcudia Center Apartments which have excellent amenities and are close to a choice of restaurants. The apartments have a pool, separate children's pool, supermarket and a mini club for 5-11 year olds - a good choice for families. There is also evening entertainment. If you are after more of a budget break then the 2 star Sur Beach Hotel in Cala Bona is recommended. The hotel is basic but in a fantastic location in beautiful Cala Bona, just 50 metres from the beach and a short stroll from surrounding beaches. 	2. Cosmos Cosmos were voted tour operator of the year in 2007 and you know that when you book a package holiday with them you are in safe hands! They have loads of experience and their ethos is to "package holidays with care". And compared to other companies we researched their prices are very low too! This makes them our number one choice for Majorca package deals. They cover many areas of Majorca including Alcudia, Cala Bona, Magaluf, Palma Nova and Puerto Pollensa to name just a few. Their hotels and apartments are all of a good standard and there is plenty of choice. We like the Hotel Cala Bona which is centrally located in the pretty fishing village of Cala Bona. It overlooks the quaint harbour and there are two secluded sandy beaches close by. The hotel has plenty of entertainment and good facilities making it a good choice for families. There is a pool, balcony, air con and internet access. For a taste of luxury head for the 4* plus rated Hotel Illa d'Or in Puerto Pollensa. This hotel has a spectacular location overlooking the sea with it's own private jetty. Everything about this hotel oozes style and comfort and it is highly recommended for a relaxing break. You will find here spa facilities to pamper yourself and a lovely terrace to unwind on, which overlooks the sea. As for their choice of hotels we like the 4* Alcudia Pins Hotel which enjoys a beachfront location. It also has a kids club making this hotel perfect for families. Other facilities include money exchange, lounge, 2 restaurants, 2 bars, 2 snack bars, pool with waterside, sun area, sun loungers and sunbeds with umbrellas. All this and a great price to match! 	4. Thomsons Thomson holidays have always offered good quality holidays but were traditionally expensive. But now with online booking their prices have came down and are in line with other companies to compete in the online market. Their website offers loads of information on Majorca itself and unlike other websites you can take virtual tours of the island and many of the hotels. They have a vast selection of Majorca holidays including Cosmopolitan capital city Palma, traditional Magaluf and Palma Nova, beautiful Cala D'Or, cosmopolitan C'an Picafort and Puerto Del Soller. Thomson holidays are particularly recommended for late deals so if you are leaving in the next 6 weeks you could save a lot of money! We recommend the 4* Santa Lucia Hotel which is claimed to have the best location in Palma Nova. It is situated right next to 2 lovely beaches and there are fab views over the blue sea. There is a freeform pool, whirlpool bath, sun terrace, evening entertainment, steam room, sauna and daytime activities. We also recommend the 4* Hotel Picafort Park near C'an Picafort. This hotel has loads of facilities and offers hight standards at good value for money. It is set away from it all but you can easily get into C'an Picafort itself when you want a livelier evening. 	5. Low Cost Beds Majorca is one of their best selling destinations and it's easy to see why! On this site you have total flexibility as you book your flight and hotel separately. First of all search their database for a low cost flight to Palma and then choose a hotel to match your flight dates. You can go for as many nights as you like as you are not limited to travel agent standards like 7 or 14 nights. So if for example a 9 night break would suit you, you can book that! Once your flight is booked you will be shown all hotels with availability to match the dates. You can choose the hotel rating and basis for example half board, self catering or all inclusive. At the time of this research they have a massive sale including savings of up to £200 per couple and family deals from just £514 per family. You can expect to get a cheap Majorca holiday from just £143 per adult. This price is based on staying in the 3* Viva Tropic Hotel in May on a self catering basis. There are loads of other hotels on offer depending on your budget including the 3A rated Cala Gran Hotel and Apartments in Cala D'or. This hotel is a fab choice for families as it is close to the beach and has a great kids club. You can pay less than £200 per adult depending on when you go and the airport you fly from. Overall their best deals at the moment are for May departures although their prices are good throughout the summer months.
